Located in Colle Capriolo and result of a donation dating back to the 17th century, the Camaldolese Hermitage was made up of a building surrounded by 50 fields of land and a small church. The architectural complex was built sober and harmonious and included oratories, services, workshops, cloistered walls and 14 cells. These ones, poor and bare, reflected the Benedictine life of prayer and work that the monks led inside. Today only 4 cells have survived the wear and tear of time: closed by the walls, they consist of a room for rest and study, a chapel with an altar and a woodshed; outside, each has a small fenced garden. In the underlying part of the cells, there are also some laboratories, probably used as warehouses for the deposit of crops, as workshops or cellars. In 1876 part of the Hermitage was purchased by the municipal administration, which transformed the historic building into the Town Hall and used the cells as classrooms.
