Via Stazione 1 , Affi (VR) - 37010

Already since the opening of the Verona-Caprino line in 1889, the Affi station played a fundamental role for the reloading of coal or wood in the direction of Caprino after the difficult Val del Tasso. Enriched then in 1904 by the entry into service of the 'branch' to Garda after the Second World War when it went into crisis, the line was important for the repair of bombed bridges in the Val del Tasso. Between the 1940s and 1950s, a bar was set up inside the station, run by Silvino Ragno, deputy mayor of the village in the 1950s. Silvino Ragno also dedicated a poem to the station, published posthumously in a historical book created by the municipality of Affi dedicated to the structure. On 1 July 1956, the Affi-Garda line was closed and in December of the same year the Caprino-Domegliara section was closed following the bankruptcy of the company that ran the service, the SAER. The station is now used as a library.
