A birdwatching experience on Lake Garda, focused on discovering the lake’s more natural side. A slow-paced experience for kids and families, designed to help participants recognize the bird species that live in and migrate through this unique environment.
The tour starts in Garda and follows the lakeshore to Lazise, passing through Bardolino and several scenic areas ideal for bird observation.
The experience begins with a short introduction to lake birdlife: how to observe birds responsibly, identify common species, and use binoculars. Illustrated sheets are provided, along with basic information about habitats and behavior.
Along the route, participants may observe great crested grebes, coots, mallards, grey herons and little egrets, and, if lucky, the kingfisher. The guide provides essential explanations and ecological context throughout the walk.
A short stop in Bardolino highlights wetlands and their importance for nesting and migration. A brief bird-call listening activity is available for children.
The experience ends in Lazise, with a final observation session and a shared overview of the species spotted. Participants learn how to interpret the landscape through bird behavior and visible traces.
At the end of the experience, each participant receives a small nature-themed souvenir card about the birds of Lake Garda. Optional free lunch or partner restaurant along the lakeshore.
