Luciano Beretta, born in Milan and adopted by Lake Garda, took his first steps as a dancer at La Scala, but his restless spirit also led him to theater with Tognazzi and Wanda Ausiris. Then came the opportunity to write songs, an activity he defined as "more fun than a game of briscola." The new venture exceeded all expectations, collaborating with artists of the caliber of Caterina Caselli and Ornella Vanoni. He is also responsible for the lyrics of Adriano Celentano's most famous songs, such as Il ragazzo della Via Gluck, La coppia più bella del mondo, and Una carezza in un pugno.
From Milan, he then decided to move to Garda, in the beautiful retreat of Benaco, where he lived until 1994, the year of his death, surrounded by loved ones, first among them the musician Elide Suligoj, his "guardian angel".
In Garda, the illustrious citizen is remembered with great affection, to whom the Municipal Administration has dedicated a park and an award reserved for emerging artists established in 2017 by the Cultural Association Rugantino presided over by Marco Attard.
The symbolic song of the lake "Lago di Garda gioiello d'Italy" was written by Beretta with music by maestro Ian Langosz.
