Cinema Teatro ''Giuseppe Farinelli''

The Salvi brothers from Verona purchased the building located near the palace of the noble Carminati family, and in its courtyard, they built a entirely wooden puppet theater for puppet shows and various arts. In 1910, the theater and the adjacent building were purchased by the Atestina Mutual Aid Society. While apartments and offices for the Society were created in the building, the old wooden theater was demolished, and in the spacious courtyard, following a project and under the direction of the Este engineer Contardo Gagliardo, a much larger masonry theater was built in the shape of an arena, with the audience area surrounded by a space reserved for popular seating and topped by a spacious loggia with two side boxes. In 1931, there was a further and final transformation of the theater into a large rectangular hall with a double row of seats. With its new shape, the theater also took on its current name, intended to honor the memory of the illustrious Atestino musician Giuseppe Farinelli, an Italian composer known especially as an opera composer. Today it is also used as a cinema.
