The “Perine” area is a small crag located just a stone's throw from the historic center of Feltre.
Originally, stone was extracted from this band of red rock on the slopes of Telva for construction purposes, but the quarry has since fallen into disuse, and starting in the 1970s, it became one of the first “climbing gyms” in the province.
The routes are short, and there are no high-grade routes; rather than vertical, this crag is more suited for “horizontal” climbing: the rock's stratifications are perfect for long traverses on small holds. It’s an excellent training method when time is short or when climbing partners are hard to find. On the beautiful meadow at the base of the crag, generations of climbers have gathered in the evenings after work to plan routes and exchange opinions on local climbing events.
