"I Careghete" Mostra e Museo

The Museo dei Seggiolai (I Careghete) is dedicated to the ancient tradition of the chair-maker trade, conza in local dialect, and was set up in the former school building of Tos, a fraction of Rivamonte Agordino. Inside the exhibition area there are two permanent exhibitions dedicated to the typical craft of the caregheta, where documents, photographs and objects provided by the volunteers of the Unesco Agordino Club can be observed. Interesting stories of some secrets of the trade and of the life of the conza experts, always accompanied by apprentices (gaburo) and the particular language (scapelament of the conze) that they used to communicate with each other.
