It is located at an altitude of 1902 m in the Busa di Monsampiàn at the western end of the Vette Feltrine in the Belluno Dolomites National Park.
Malga Monsampiàn is situated at the center of the characteristic Busa di Monsampiàn, a glacial basin closed on the east by the slopes of the Front, on the north by the Pavione Pass, and on the west by the Vallazza. It can be reached from the Dal Piaz Refuge and the village of Aune via the CAI 810 trail, from Zorzoi along the CAI 818 trail, and from the Pavione Pass via the CAI 817 trail.
