Brescia Gate, also known as "country gate," was the access to the fortress. Its very simple and compact architecture is typical of military defense constructions. The imposing 16th-century bastion, protected by the moat that, together with the other three channels, surrounds the fortress, can already be seen from here.
From here, after crossing the bridge designed by Anton Maria Lorna in 1760, we traverse the historic center of the city, reaching Piazza San Marco.
