Casa Costanzo is where Tuzio Costanzo, buyer of the altarpiece by Giorgione, lived. He moved from Cyprus to Castelfranco around 1475.
The building was probably realised in the 14th century and it was home of the chief magistrate before 1410.
Its style has Gothic influences, as presented by the three-mullioned window with ogival arches, adorned with the stone family crest. In the hall on the main floor are frescoed the crests of the families Costanzo and Verni from Mallorca, family of Tuzio's wife, and two elegant stripes on the walls: on one, on dark red background, are represented two female figures; on the other, over golden backgound, are frescoed flying water horses, lions and mermaids among the trees.
