The trail offers scenic glimpses of the Schiara group and the Rui Fret valley.
Starting from the Case Bortot parking lot, take the path to the Settimo Alpini hut (CAI signpost 501). After about 15 minutes, take the left detour to Forcella Mompiana (CAI signpost 506) and continue until you reach the saddle of Col Forongol (altitude 961).
About fifty meters later, take the right detour (signboard) to Casera dei Pez. Continue descending gently through the woods, and soon you will reach the Casera (open but unguarded). Proceed through the glade in front of the Casera for about fifty meters, then the path sharply turns right and continues quite steeply, winding through the forest, descending into the Ardo valley until, with a long traverse, you reach the path to the Settimo Alpini hut that leads back to Case Bortot.
Tip: The peak of Col Forongol, about fifty meters from the saddle where the path passes, offers an extraordinary view of the Schiara group and the valleys of Rui Fret and Ardo (be careful not to lean over).
