Duration: 2 ½ hours (approximately)
Distance: 1.4 km

Churches along the route: San Giorgio in Braida | Santo Stefano | Santi Siro e Libera | San Giovanni in Valle | Santa Maria in Organo
During the urban pilgrimage days, the churches of Santa Maria in Betlemme (today San Zeno in Monte) and Santa Maria di Nazareth, as well as other places of historical and artistic interest (Fontana del Ferro, walls, panoramic terraces and gardens) also become stops along the itinerary.
This itinerary is part of the Verona Minor Hierusalem circuit, a cultural association created with the aim of enhancing the role of Verona as Little Jerusalem and its numerous and valuable examples of Christian architecture.
Start your journey from Ponte Pietra, leaving the city centre to cross the Adige river and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Veronetta. The itinerary takes you through the district of San Faustino and the old Isolo, now Piazza Isolo, to then climb the hill of San Pietro and enjoy the view of the city from the two panoramic terraces of Castel San Pietro and San Zeno in Monte, admire the Roman Theatre and discover old and new water sources.
This route is an opportunity to discover the beauty and enjoy the tranquility of the Torricelle, the hills of Verona that in recent years have been enhanced by the reopening of the Funicular and the museum renovation. The river is your walking companion, with the sweet music of its flow and the chirping of the birds that populate it. Every church is a place where you can be moved and enchanted by beauty and history. The churches of Saints Syro and Libera, Santa Maria in Organo, San Giovanni in Valle, Santo Stefano and San Giorgio in Braida, which for years were not easily accessible to the public, are now accessible thanks to the care of volunteers of Verona Minor Hierusalem.
You can find information material for your visit in the individual churches, at the IAT Tourist Office in Via degli Alpini, 9 and at the Infopoint of Verona Minor Hierusalem (little church of San Pietro Martire).
