It is located on the electrified double-track line Padua-Bologna and branches off eastward, towards Adria and Chioggia (VE), on the single-track Rovigo-Chioggia, and westward, towards Legnago and Verona, on the Verona-Legnago-Rovigo line.
The Rovigo station also serves the short non-electrified single-track stretch to the Rovigo Interporto freight yard.
The external square is the interchange point with the main urban lines of Busitalia. Along Viale Guglielmo Marconi, the avenue in front of the station, some extra-urban bus lines managed by Busitalia also pass by, and the bus station is located in the square at the Church of Commenda, connecting it to all provincial destinations and some national bus lines.
Adjacent to the station building, there is a Taxi service.
