Zona archeologica Neroniane
Via Neroniana,21/23 , Montegrotto Terme - 35036
To the southeast of the settlement along the railway, on Via Neroniana, numerous fragmentary materials from the Roman age emerge: mosaic tiles, tiles, bricks, household utensils such as cooking dishes. Among the finds, a complete specimen depicting a tragic mask should be noted. Three groups of artifacts have been identified among which no connections could be established: a vast area on the eastern edge of the land; in the central part, a complex series of rooms, some of which open onto a long portico oriented north-south, articulated in a series of rectangular and semicircular niches; at the western edge of the land, a large exedra, seemingly isolated from the other structures. The entire complex can be interpreted as a public thermal establishment and a wealthy private residence dating back to the 1st century B.C.
