The San Daniele Oasis has an area of about 70,000 square meters and is located within a larger protected area.
In the upper part of the Oasis, there is a large lawn next to a picnic area. Here, there is a sensory geological path to walk on barefoot, consisting of thirty spaces where materials of various nature and origin alternate: blocks of marble from the Grappa Massif, gravels of different sizes from the Brenta, Lastego, Piave, and Muson rivers, clay typical of the Oasis or the hills of Possagno. All this is interspersed with grassy areas or, in any case, soft soils, to create pleasant sensations underfoot.
There is also a floodplain forest where we can admire specimens of the main native trees and shrubs such as the European Hornbeam and the Hazel. In the lower part, a long wooden walkway allows us to explore the wetland with a large colony of Common Reed, Broad-leaved Cattail, and the rarer Narrow-leaved Cattail.
But the Oasis is also important for its fauna, such as waterfowl and raptors. Mammals like the roe deer and fox are also present. Today, the Oasis, which is identified as an area for protection and environmental education, is managed by the "San Daniele Oasis" Association, which nurtures its potential through actions of naturalistic research, birdwatching, nature photography, guided tours for children and adults.
