A scenic walk on top of the only ramparts in Europe with an elliptical, medieval parapet walk. After 20 years of conservation intervention the ramparts are accessible on all their length since June 8th 2013. The parapet walk is suitable for a stroll on top of the city walls of Cittadella on a height of 15 meters. It was used by the guards to defend the town from above when under siege. The recent restoration and safeguard of the antique parapet walk allows visitors to admire the town from unknown and privileged perspectives, offering a unique experience of “Walking on History”. The walk is nearly two kilometers long and along the way you can visit the frescoed hall and the medieval museum in the Captain’s House, the civic archeological museum and the museum of the siege in the southern keep called Malta tower. From the panoramic viewpoint on its top you will catch a sight of the Euganeian and the Berici Hills, the foothill with the walled cities of Marostica and Asolo, and Mount Grappa.
