The Parapet Walkway is 15 metres above Cittadella’s walls on the historic defensive walkway whose purpose was to defend the town from above in the event of enemy attack. Recent renovation work has made the historic Ronda walkway safe for the public and it is an excellent opportunity to explore the town from a new and attractive historic perspective, a unique walk through history.
The visitors’ route is almost two kilometers long and many of the medieval museum and re-enactment rooms in the Captain House can be visited en route. Inside the Torre di Malta, moreover, you can visit the almost thirty meter high Belvedere, the Siege Museum and the Civic Archaeological Museum. The view ranges over the countryside around the town including the Euganean hills, the Berici mountains, the Alpine foothills with the walled towns of Marostica and Asolo and Mt. Grappa. The entrance to the walkway is the Bassano Gate near the Captains’ House at the tourist office.
