The term Salcedum prevailed in the 17th century over the term Salzedum documented in 1294.
Two churches in Salcedo were mentioned around 1450, both equipped with a bell tower and cemetery. The first church is the hermitage of San Sigismondo, built by the noble Pagello family who held the right of patronage, while the other is the parish church of Saints Quirico and Giulitta. In 1465, the benefits of the two churches were united, extending the patronage rights of the Pagello family to the parish church as well.
At the pastoral visit of Barozzi in 1488, San Sigismondo was still a hermitage, while the parish church was in poor condition.
In the following century, Bishop Ormaneto noted that the baptismal font had been moved to San Sigismondo, where the rector lived, while the care of souls was exercised in the parish church.
In the visit of 1641, the rector and sacraments had returned to the church of Saints Quirico and Giulitta, while the hermitage of San Sigismondo was described as a "field church".
The parish church of Saints Quirico and Giulitta was restored and enlarged around 1710.
From 1898 to 1908, the year of dedication to the martyrs Quirico and Giulitta, a significant restoration was carried out.
The ceiling of the parish church of Salcedo features fresco decoration attributed to the Venetian school of the early 9th century depicting the "Trinity and angels". In 1890, the "Pietà" was created by the Vicentine workshop of Pietro della Vecchia, a sculptural group in painted wood characterized by the emotional intensity with which the Virgin holds the lifeless body of Jesus in her arms.
The oratory of Saints Anna and Valentino houses a remarkable polychrome wooden statue from the second quarter of the 15th century depicting "Saint Anna teaching her daughter Mary to read". The artwork underwent restoration in 1920 by Ferdinando Demetz of Ortisei, who provided the sculpture with a new polychromy and reworked the face of Mary.
