Reality consisting of a combination of different museum sites spread and rooted in the municipal territory of Lusiana Conco aimed at learning, in-depth analysis and reflection, which is not limited and sometimes belittled inside a building or one area only; but it is a composition of entities different from each other, for both composition and purposes, which combined form the identity of a place, in particular of the territory of Lusiana Conco. https://www.museodilusiana.it/ the open-air museum consists of 6 museums:
PALAZZON MUSEUM:
Enclosed within the namesake very beautiful sixth-century building located in the heart of the town, the Palazzon Museum is the shrine of habits and costumes of the inhabitants of Lusiana. Inside there are, accurately recreated, various views of the past environments, all wisely bound by a single thread: food, from the way to procure it to the system of preparation, to the techniques for conservation. Here the typical rural home come back to life with a kitchen, developed around the fireplace heart of family life, a cellar, place to store food, a bedroom that, even if bare and poor, represents the place of the long-awaited rest after an intense day of efforts. Really important is then the part dedicated to the cheesemaker that accurately simulates the life in the mountain huts present in the municipal territory and discloses the secrets to prepare the raised cheese (mezzano) and the pressed cheese (Asiago), as well as the main dairy products (butter, tosèla and ricotta). Interesting is the in-depth analysis reserved to the preparation and storage of some typical foods such as sauerkraut, pork products, smoked meat and the renowned dried meat, fresh pasta, polenta, grappa and cider. A small part of the exhibition is also dedicated to the means of transport such as pack baskets, caponàra [a kind of cage], wheelbarrows, sleighs, carts and wineskin. Finally, flagship of the museum is the part dedicated to the straw processing, art that appeared right in Lusiana around the second half of 1600. You can admire all the tools for straw processing such as sésola, chija and tamisi as well as all the different kinds of weaving and the various finished products such as bags and hats. A journey back to some centuries is waiting for the visitors that can also make use of an equipped projection room and an educational laboratory of weaving, where to simulate the ancient processing of straw. PREHISTORIC VILLAGE OF MOUNT CORGNON:
On the top of the Mount Corgnon (910 m above sea level) emerges, like an island of history on the sea of the third millennium, a very particular small site, shelter of a too remote past to arouse memories and nostalgia. This is the Prehistoric Village of Mount Corgnon, ideal destination for lovers of ancient history or better of prehistory. Here, on the remains of an ancient castelliere (fortified village) of the neolithic period, a village was rebuilt and today the main activities performed by our distant ancestors are reproposed. Going into the hut of the ceramist with his lathe and his decorated vases, the one of the textile workers with a loom and related objects, and among the spaces designed for bronze casting, cooking of the terracotta pots, cereal milling, cooking of food, leather processing and chipping of flint stone, you feel like living at the time when only instinct and ingenuity allowed humans to survive. There are various experimental activities offered by this ancient site and include clay working, chipping of flint stone, construction and use of bows and arrows, lighting of the fire and loom weaving. Everything surrounded by a very beautiful view extending all-round and by a trail that connects the town centre (eco-power trail of the Mount Corgnon), which, winding through forests, tunnels of the World War I and even rare shrub species, offers the opportunity for interesting insights related to the natural environment and its role in the human life.
