Villa Bertolini in Isola Vicentina is a villa that dates back to the 15th century. Restored during the 19th century, it currently houses the "R Cardarelli" kindergarten.
The facade of the building, facing south, has a compact appearance that is enhanced by the presence of some frescoes that, through illusionistic effects, depict a false rustication in the lower portion, fake niches, and false balustrades on the upper floor. A lateral barchessa is connected to the main body.
Inside, there is a fine fresco by Costantino Pasqualotto (Vicenza, 1681-1755) as well as refined decorations from the 19th century.
In 1943, the elementary schools were moved to the villa, renting the ground floor premises. In 1954, the villa and its splendid park were donated to the San Vitale parish of Castelnovo, thus becoming the permanent site of the nursery school (which took the name from its donor Romualdo Cardarelli).
