In the 1600s, the farm was owned by the female monastery of San Domenico in Vicenza, rented to the Zerbato family. Following the suppression of the convent during the Napoleonic era, and the transfer of property belonging to Religious and charitable bodies to Austrian public ownership, Gaetano Zerbato purchased the house and farm from the Austrian Public Estate. His sons Giovanni and Francesco expanded the old stables attached to the walls of Contrà Busìn and built in front of the residence the splendid Portico with wide arches topped with a false attic and two floors of Laboratories for silk processing. They had the Music Room decorated, enhanced by Doric order semi-columns on the outside, and equipped the Stables and the Tinazzara. Their nephew Francesco Clementi crowned these last buildings with Guelph battlements and transformed the ancient dovecote into a Neo-Gothic Little Castle.
Among the notable structures of the Villa is the Winery, arranged by Francesco. In the 1950s, it was entered like a shrine. Vintage bottles, of various shapes and made with glass of different colors depending on the wines they were to contain, were tilted on the shelves. The irrigation system and water temperature in the garden were still functioning in 1965, enclosed within the confines of the orchard, with tanks, small channels, and sprinklers that, when activated, spread the fragrance of thyme, reseda, mint, sage, and rosemary through the air.
In 1976, the complex was sold to the Municipality of Malo. Since 1999, following some renovation works, part of the complex has become home to the Municipal Library. In 2006, significant interventions aimed at preserving the architectural artifact were carried out in the building, particularly concerning the preservation of the paintings present in the rooms and the creation of new reading rooms on the first floor of the building.
