Cimiteri Britannici Boscon - Cesuna

zona Boscon , Cesuna - 36010

The English Cemetery houses the graves of 166 British fallen and is easily accessible:

From Asiago follow the signs for Cesuna, following the main road, (SS349) and just before reaching the village about 3 km, there is the sign for Boscon and take the road that goes on the right. (Near the road there is a picnic area and you follow the dirt road that runs along it);

From Cesuna you can start on foot from the large car park near the palaciclamino and following the signs to the East, take the Old Railway Road, always following the signs for Boscon. Not long ago a memorial ceremony was held by the South Facing Highland Association and the Municipality of Roana to commemorate Captain Wood, 1st/7th Bn., Worcestershire Regiment, son of Thomas Percival and Mary Wood of South Norwood (London)Killed in combat on August 3, 1918. At the ceremony, together with the British delegation, composed of the relatives of the Cap. Wood, local authorities were present, the technicians of the CWGC (Commonwealth War Graves Commission) and some members of the Association facing the South.

In particular, we wanted to remember the tragic "Battle of the Solstice" that saw British soldiers hard engaged in combat even in the southern sector of the Seven Commons Plateau, many of whom lost their lives.
