- From Vicenza: follow the highway A31 Valdastico till Piovene Rocchette; from here take provincial road SP349 and than arrive to Asiago Plateau, find the first village Treschè Conca and than Cesuna. In the centre of Cesuna you can find a signature for “Monte Lemerle” and turn right from the main street. (park in the big parking near the Palazetto “Palaciclamino”)
- From Bassano: reach Asiago and follow for Canove, passing the village and after the Town Hall and roundabout follow for Cesuna. In the centre of Cesuna just follow the directions given above.
The area of Monte Lemerle combines two catastrophic events a century away, the First World War (in the 1918) and the storm Vaia (in the 2018).
The first caused death and destruction through the numerous bloody battles and the second the destruction and crash of millions trees.
The project wants to show and value the places hit by these catastrophic events and create a place of memory for the population and current young generation, so that thanks to the memory and commemoration and avoid mistakes in the future.
The itinerary is ring-shaped and it is 6 km long. It stars from Cesuna, a small village of Roana Common, after parking the car near the Palazzetto “Palaciclamino” follow the sign of “Monte Lemerle” in the paved road uphill through “Via Magnaboschi”and continue along the way up to “Monte Lemerle”.
Along the path there are 6 points of interest and reflection set up with the art works created entirely using the wood of the storm Vaia of the 2018. So from each stage there are descriptive tables made with the wood of Vaia, which tell the importance of the place where you are.
Along the way find also some artistic chairs of wood realized by the sculptors Marco Pangrazio and Giovanni dal Sasso, which allow you to sit and reflect to Keep the memory alive and not forget.
