Now owned by Ulss 4 Alto Vicentino, the current appearance of Villa Nievo Bonin Longare dates back to 1880, created by the Milanese architect Michele Cairati, who altered the pre-existing 17th-century buildings in neo-Gothic style.
The Nievo family, feudal lords of Montecchio Precalcino since 1333 and owners of a substantial part of the municipal territory, had a residence from their first investiture, which they gradually modified, renovated, and reconstructed several times, until arriving at the current neo-Gothic building erected between 1880 and 1882.
The history of the Villa Nievo Bonin-Longare complex was marked by the needs of its new use, with structural modifications, expansions, the construction of new pavilions and a new church that, while impacting the layout of the surrounding territory, did not compromise the integrity of the 19th-century villa.
