To make known in Italy and around the world the local wine tradition through the Breganze DOC wines: this is the goal that unites and connects the members of the Cantina Beato Bartolomeo. Here, where Andrea Palladio built some of his most beautiful villas, the vine has been cultivated for over a thousand years to produce gentle and precious wines that are the pride and joy of this land.
The commitment of Cantina Beato Bartolomeo has focused in recent years on improving the quality of every single aspect of the production chain. The work of the agronomists is aimed at supporting the contributing members right from the choice of grape varieties to be planted and the training technique, advising and guiding them on pruning and agronomic practices. Only healthy, quality grapes can produce quality wine: on this basis, Cantina Beato Bartolomeo rewards the efforts of its members with careful analysis of incoming grapes and the distribution of profits in proportion to the quality of the delivered grapes.
A mechanism that is encouraging producers to reduce yields per hectare and to focus on the quality of the harvest, picking grapes in boxes as is already done for 1000 quintals of grapes each year. The results of these efforts are clearly noticeable in the premium wine lines signed Beato Bartolomeo.
Currently, there are about 700 contributing members. With 50,000 quintals of grapes processed and about 2 million bottles produced each year, Beato Bartolomeo alone accounts for over 70% of the Breganze DOC production.
It has always represented the reference point for Breganze winemaking. Over the years, the company has managed to update its facilities with massive investments that now allow it to boast some of the most advanced technologies in the wine sector. Its structure, modern and functional, preserves prestigious environments, such as the old barrel room – which benefits from the natural coolness provided by its 15-meter depth.
