It was in 1923, with the move to Breganze of Nonna Caterina and her family and the purchase of the first vine-planted lands, located in the heart of the Torcolato and Breganze wines area, that the story of the Col Dovigo winery began. The marriage of Nonna Caterina to Valentino Bonollo, one of the founding partners of the Beato Bartolomeo Winery in Breganze, also united the passion of the two young spouses for viticulture: while continuing to work the vineyards in the Mirabella district, they moved to the hill, to what is now the current location of the Col Dovigo Winery.
The love for the land and its precious fruits is passed down to the children Battista and Pieralberto, who, valuing the knowledge inherited from their parents, acquire new lands, planting them with vineyards and renewing existing ones with native and international grape varieties. The rediscovery and enhancement of native grape varieties marks a fundamental milestone in the history of Col Dovigo Winery: by investing resources and commitment to preserve the typical characteristics of the Breganze DOC area, the company initiates an important process of requalification of its products, introducing the first bottled wines into the national market.
Thanks to the friendship between Battista Bonollo, his nephew Stefano, and winemaker Alessandro Favaro, since 2004, the Col Dovigo wines have been born, a result of the passion and constant pursuit of quality improvement of the DOC Breganze wines.
A perfect blend of tradition and innovation, deep knowledge of the territory, constant attention to vineyard care, and the ability to experiment with innovative enological and agronomic techniques: these are the values that form the identity of the Col Dovigo Winery, now a reference point for winemaking in the Breganze DOC area.
