The Firmino Miotti Winery is a strictly family-run business, synonymous with the territory, and has always been one of the wineries that best interprets the characteristics of the DOC Breganze and its wines.
Firmino, the owner of the winery, took over the reins and has been in charge of the business since he was very young, in the 1950s. Since then, he has taken extreme care and attention to his family's land, preserving the winemaking traditions of the past while always keeping an eye on modernity to consistently provide his loyal customers with products of the highest quality.
For Firmino Miotti, winemaking is more than a profession; it is an art that requires meticulous attention and complete dedication to the final product. It has been this dedication of the Miotti family that has introduced the winery and its prized products to the general public.
The company, now known at a national level, has decided to distinguish itself by making the safeguarding of ancient vine varieties from the Breganze area its primary objective. Examples include Gruajo, a ruby wine tending towards garnet that was already present in the 1700s; Pedevendo, a very rare type of white grape cultivated almost exclusively by the Miotti winery for over a century; Sampagna, a white wine made from 100% Marzemina bianca grapes, with the first confirmed historical records dating back to 1679; and Groppello, whose etymology traces back to the Venetian verb “ingropare,” meaning to bind the gums, due to the wine's high tannic quality, which seems to have first appeared in the Breganze area in the 1300s.
The Miotti family has always wanted to remain closely tied to the traditions of the land and the products of yesteryear, continuing forward with varieties that are exclusive to the area and that would otherwise have been lost over time.
