"Le Vigne di Roberto" is a winery located in the heart of the Breganze DOC area, one of the most renowned wine regions in Italy, recognized as a Denomination of Origin Controlled since 1968.
This area extends from the Astico River to the Brenta, at the foot of the Asiago Plateau, and is characterized by volcanic soils in the hilly areas and alluvial layers in the flat parts. These soils are ideal for grape cultivation, providing shelter from the colder currents during winter and ventilation in summer thanks to the mountains to the north. A microclimate that allows for impressive results even with grape varieties that are quite challenging to cultivate, such as Pinot Noir.
A total of 13 varieties are cultivated in Breganze and registered with the DOC. Among these, a significant place is held by the Vespaiola grape, an indigenous variety grown exclusively in this territory. Its plant is hardy and well-suited to both dry and rainy seasons. The sweet berries with thin skins attract the attention of wasps and bees (hence the name Vespaiola), but at the same time, the grapes are characterized by a pronounced acidity. This makes Vespaiola an absolutely versatile grape, suitable for producing fresh and fruity sparkling wines, white wines to accompany flavorful dishes (the pairing with Bacalà is famous), or, after a slow drying process, the renowned Torcolato.
