The story of the Award-Winning Artistic Ceramic Factory Antonio Zen and Son begins in 1885 when Gio.Batta Zen and Demetrio Primon founded the "G.B. Zen & Son" manufacturing company. Gio.Batta's son, Antonio, a skilled sculptor, created a wide range of objects in a traditional style. In the 1920s, the Zen factory became one of the most important in the area, employing 80 workers and managing 6 kilns. In 1905, sculptor Antonio Zen created a copper statue of Saint Peter placed atop the bell tower of Nove. Additionally, he made four cement statues of the Evangelists for the same bell tower, never installed and now located in the courtyard of the factory.
In 1924, to embellish the factory, he created a large low-relief frieze illustrating the various stages of ceramic work through worker cherubs. A large female figure is positioned at a corner like the figurehead of a ship, holding a small vase between her hands
