Giuseppe Lucietti, Edera, 1992

Via Molini, 2 , Nove - 36055

The large panel is composed of refractory plates and metallic salts in single firing, modeled and decorated by Giuseppe Lucietti and placed on the southeast facade of the historic 'Cafè Roma,' at the corner of via Molini and via Rizzi, in 1992.
The decoration recalls and reinterprets the vigorous and invasive ivy that extended over the facade of the building before restoration.
Born in Nove in 1936, Giuseppe Lucietti learned the art of ceramics from his family. He studied at the Nove Art Institute, under the guidance of Andrea Parini, and attended the Academy of Art in Venice. In the 1950s, he stayed several times in Faenza, collaborating with Nanni Valentini at Carlo Zauli's workshop.
In 1984, he won the Faenza Prize at the 42nd International Competition of Art Ceramics.
