The tower was part of a larger quadrangular structure with four towers on the sides, surrounded by walls and a moat.
The construction is about 22 meters tall and was built at the behest of Cangrande della Scala, around 1330.
At the top, you can still see the coat of arms of the Scaligeri.
The recommended visiting period is from mid-June to the end of September.
