The fort, also known as "Fortino Stella," was a cave battery designed to assist and complement the actions of the Lisser and Cima Campo forts.
The structure was entirely built into the rock and consisted of a tunnel about 300 m long, which in turn was made up of 5 lateral tunnels overlooking the Valsugana.
The first longer tunnel served as a maneuver corridor while the others acted as an observation point (the first of the 5) and as protected casemates armored with nickel steel.
The entire flooring was made of concrete with a network of drainage channels that transported water to the main cistern located at the entrance. A trench connected the cave battery to the service building, which contained various materials and storerooms for supplies. Additionally, it could accommodate up to 100 men.
After being disarmed, it was used to detonate unexploded shells collected from various areas of the Plateau, thereby destroying the internal concrete lining.
To reach the site, one must pass through the center of Enego, then take Via Roma, and finally arrive at the Coldarco di Mezzo location where shortly after, there is a sign for the fort.
