It was the seat of the Podestà during the time of the Most Serene Republic of Venice.
Inside, there are frescoes of false upholstery with vertical bands, polychrome friezes, roundels, and medallions featuring portraits of illustrious figures from the past, as well as the ancient prisons of the Pretura.
