The Baptistery of the Padua Cathedral

A visit to the religious Padua of the 14th century that will feature the Cathedral Baptistery, a UNESCO Heritage Site of the Padua Urbs Picta.
Accompanied by a guide, you will visit the interior of the Baptistery where the special features of the frescoed walls and history are illustrated. Named after St. John, it is a Romanesque building that preserves inside one of the most important fresco cycles by “Giottesque painter” Giusto dei Menabuoi. A true "theological summa" wonderfully described by a great interpreter of 14th-century Paduan painting. The guided tour of the Cathedral Baptistery illustrates the history and special features of the frescoed walls.
The Baptistery was chosen by Fina Buzzaccarini as the family burial place and is rich in frescoes. These represent the great development of Paduan painting, which expressed a completely new way of representing narrative in painting with the new spatial perspectives, influenced by advances in science in optics and with the ability to paint the human figure with natural realism, allowing it for the first time in the history of painting to be able to express feelings and emotions that are part of our human nature.
