With the arrival of summer, in June, Malga Serona welcomes you among flowering pastures, woods, and a picturesque view of the Venetian plain.
Easily accessible and part of the Giro della Malghe in the municipality of Caltrano, it offers the opportunity to enjoy simple and genuine dishes, prepared with cheeses and cured meats made on-site, which can also be purchased at the store.
In their meadows, mainly Rendena cows graze, a native breed of the alpine regions, originating from the homonymous valley in Trentino, particularly suited for grazing and currently considered at risk of extinction. With their precious milk, the young cheeses maker Davide Nicoli produces cheeses and dairy products with a rich and authentic flavor, among which the cheese that stands out is, of course, the cheese King of the plateau: the Asiago d’Allevo DOP, a traditional cheese and an excellence product of the mountains.
The Nicoli family, which has managed the malga since 2013, loves to receive its guests in a simple and friendly atmosphere.
Malga Serona is located in the southern part of the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, in a scenic environment south of Monte Foraoro and Cima Fonte. The malga is surrounded by particularly fertile lands and features a characteristic building reminiscent of the old malga huts. The structure resembles the most common architectural model of malgas from the past. Malga Serona offers catering services and produces and sells malga products, as well as organizes events.
