A bicycle route off the beaten track, designed for those who wish to experience the most authentic and peaceful side of the area. Starting from the Environmental Education Centre in Ca’ Savio, we will ride together along quiet backroads, crossing landscapes of remarkable natural beauty until we reach one of the most evocative corners of the northern Venetian Lagoon, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our destination is the Terre Salate Farm – Scarpi Francesco, where we will be welcomed by Silvia, who will take us on a walk through cultivated fields, vineyards and native plants. We will pass through the charming Corte delle Mesole, stop at the small oratory hidden in the vegetation, and listen to stories linked to this land shaped by water, work and tradition. At the end of the visit, a delicious surprise will be waiting for us!
Those who wish may take a few minutes to visit the farm shop – the perfect place to buy local products to enjoy or to give as unique and truly appreciated gifts.
We will then get back on our bikes and begin the return journey along the barene – salt marshes typical of the lagoon environment – where, with a bit of luck, we may spot pink flamingos, herons and other species that inhabit this landscape suspended between fresh and salt water. The silence, the light and the atmosphere of this corner of the lagoon will accompany us back to Ca’ Savio.
The route is easy, flat and suitable for everyone.
