Walk with an environmental guide along the Saccagnana Canal, visit to a farm specialized in tomato cultivation, and wine tasting at the Locanda Zanella restaurant.
Every Tuesday at 5:45 PM, from Piazza SS. Trinità in Treporti, begins a journey through nature, agriculture, and local flavors, designed to reveal the most authentic side of the area.
The light 1 km walk, led by a certified AIGAE Environmental Hiking Guide, follows the Saccagnana Canal, offering glimpses of the lagoon and opportunities to observe local wildlife. After the relaxing stroll, the group arrives at the Alberto Smerghetto's farm, where Alberto personally welcomes guests for a guided visit through fields and greenhouses.
During the visit, guests learn about the experimental cultivation techniques used on the farm, with a special focus on tomato production, including local varieties such as cuore di bue and nasone. At the end of the visit, visitors have the chance to buy fresh, zero-kilometre vegetables directly from the grower.
The tour then continues to Locanda Zanella for a relaxing break with an aperitif: a traditional cicchetto paired with a glass of selected wine (non-alcoholic option available). It's a perfect ending, enhanced by the sunset’s reflections on the water and the charm of the village of Treporti.
