Guided walk along the Saccagnana Canal and visit to a tomato farm
Every Tuesday at 5:45 PM, from the Ss. Trinità square in Treporti, a guided walk sets off through nature, agriculture, and local flavours — a route designed to explore the most authentic side of the territory.
This easy 1 km walk, led by an AIGAE-certified Environmental Hiking Guide, runs along the Saccagnana Canal, offering lagoon views and opportunities to observe local wildlife. After the relaxing walk, the group reaches the local farmof Alberto Smerghetto, where Alberto the farmer welcomes visitors for a guided tour of the fields and greenhouses.
During the visit, the farmer illustrates the innovative cultivation techniques used on site, with a special focus on tomatoes, including the renowned local varieties cuore di bue and nasone. At the end of the tour, it’s possible to buy fresh, locally grown vegetables directly from the farm.
The return path wraps up the visit with a final glimpse of the lagoon at sunset and a walk through the charming village of Treporti.
