The itinerary of Monte Altare begins at the Fenderl Area, named after engineer Ettore Fenderl, who donated it to the city. From this area, located in the city center near the train station, a white path climbs up to a small house (Casa Bastanzetti) surrounded by greenery. From here, a path that turns left leads along the coast of Monte Altare. On this mountain, which overlooks the city of Vittorio Veneto, artifacts dating back to the Paleovenetian period have been found, attesting to the sacredness of the place originally called Monte Antares.
At the first fork encountered, one descends to the left to reach the Castle of San Martino, from which a stunning panoramic view can be enjoyed. From here, following Via Brevia, one descends until reaching Piazza Giovanni Paolo I in Ceneda. Alternatively, one can continue and reach the Colle di San Paolo by ascending along the stations of the Via Crucis that wind along the route.
