Escursione da S. Andrea a Piadera
Viale della Vittoria, 110 , Vittorio Veneto - 31029
The itinerary starts from Piazza S.Andrea; here, the ancient Romanesque parish church, dating back to the 4th century and restored in the 1300s, is worth a visit. The interior is adorned with precious frescoes and works by local authors. From the square, proceeding along Via Citolini, one begins to climb up the hill, and after crossing the canal, a steep section begins. The road continues to rise until reaching the Bocca Faè area, in Piadera. From here, turning left leads to the houses of Piadera Bassa, from which a mule track starts that leads to the nearby church of San Mamante. The church was built in the 17th century and was a destination for women who were about to give birth, hoping for abundant breastfeeding. The road can continue to Piadera Alta, and along the route, you will find the Astronomical Observatory. From Piadera Bassa, you can return by taking a mule track leading to Case Meril until reaching the old Borgo of Rindola Bassa. From here, you can pass in front of the small church of Madonna della Tosse, immersed in the tranquility of the countryside of Vittorio, and return to Piazza S. Andrea.
