La Strada dei 100 giorni
Piazza Roma, 1 , Cison di Valmarino - 31030
The road of 100 days runs through the San Boldo Pass: one of the most important communication pathways between the Treviso plain and Valbelluna since ancient times, but until the 19th century it was little more than a mule track. At the beginning of the 20th century, there was a plan to build a proper road, but the elevation and the morphology of the pass presented quite a few difficulties. Only at the end of February 1918, the Austro-Hungarians, who had settled in the area after the Battle of Caporetto, managed to complete the work, with the help of about seven thousand workers, in just one hundred days.
