Museo geopaleontologico Cava Bomba Cinto

Museo geopaleontologico di Cava Bomba

Via Bomba, 48 , Cinto Euganeo - 35030

Cava Bomba is a former kiln used in the 1800s for the extraction and production of lime, which testifies to the flourishing production activity typical of the Euganean Hills region in the past and also marks the starting point of the Monte Cinto trail. Through guided tours, you will have the opportunity to learn about all the various phases of the production process of the three kilns of Cava Bomba and the tools used for processing stone materials. In 1974, fossil fish from the Upper Cretaceous were discovered in the quarry near the kiln, and thanks to meticulous restoration, it has now become the site of the geopaleontological museum. The geopaleontological museum offers numerous routes dedicated to schools based on education level (Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School). There is also an outdoor geological park with rock samples and life-size reproductions of prehistoric animals such as Allosaurus, Apatosaurus, and Hadrosaurus.
