Oratorio della Santissima Trinità
Via Castello,3 , Arquà Petrarca (PD) - 35032
The building, as preserved, is the result of countless modifications from an original Romantic nucleus. This realization seems to indicate a precise function connected to the management of civil power, perhaps related to the summit presence of the original castle, well known from historical documentation. The first nucleus of the church is probably represented by the western part of the building; this assumption is plausible due to the presence in the southwestern corner of masonry made of well-squared and regular-sized blocks. Likely related to this primitive layout are a pointed single-light window opened in the western corner of the southern façade and the traces of an access door, later bricked up and partially demolished, at the base of the same façade. The enlargement of the hall to its current dimensions was likely carried out during the 14th century, as can be seen from the traces of frescoes still preserved inside the building.
