The oratory, with an adjoining convent, is documented as early as 1407.
It is an ancient city hospital, which offered hospitality and medical assistance to the poor. On the façade, the imposing stone portal stands out, decorated with floral motifs and bas-relief figures.
Above it, a large lunette houses the sculptural image of a Virgin Mary of Mercy: with her arms outstretched and her cloak open, she welcomes and protects the faithful kneeling on either side of her.
Upstairs some frescoes by Giovanni Buonconsiglio known as Marescalco have been found, part of which are now exhibited in the Galleries of the Academy of Venice.
