From the access bridge to Bibione heading west, you can ride a bicycle along a road that borders on one side the waterway of the Litoranea Veneta and the lagoon habitat, and on the other side the open countryside of Terzo Bacino with its history of farming civilization that continues to this day. To admire the typical fishermen's casons, continue towards Prati Nuovi by taking the dirt road until you reach the bank that separates the mainland from the lagoon. The casons were the homes of fishermen, who would move into these huts made of wood and reeds for several months each year. Inside, some planks served as a bed and a chair, and the sandy ground housed a fireplace made of stone or bricks that was used for cooking food and heating the space. Outside, in the past, the fisherman would store his equipment, and in the most sheltered spot from the wind, there was a small harbor for the boats. Today, the interior has been modified in response to the new needs of the owners, but outside their appearance has remained characteristic, and every visitor who ventures into the lagoon can admire, thanks to their presence, a landscape of ancient charm.
