Villa Fabris
Via Cancian Sante, 1A , Colle Umberto - 31014
The villa was built around 1545, the year in which Titian Vecellio was commissioned to execute the Altarpieces for the Church of Castello Roganzuolo. In exchange, the artist asked for some plots of land and the construction of a house. Here lived the artist's own daughter, Lavinia, who was married to Count Sarcinelli of Serravalle. The property of the Villa then passed to the noble Fabris family. The building was restored around 1920, shortly after World War I, by the contractor Andrea Corocher, due to the damage suffered from the Austro-Hungarians. Currently, the villa appears as a characteristic Venetian country residence, typical in its structure. From the original structure of the Villa, the polygonal Chapel desired by Vecellio remains, in which until not very long ago some reminders of the Cadorino artist were preserved.
