Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo
Via Castello di Regenza, 1 , Castello Roganzuolo - 31020
The church of Saints Peter and Paul stands on the highest hill in the town, where the Castle of Regency stood in the Middle Ages. The façade is neo-Romanesque and dates back to the 1890s. In these years, the church was lengthened, and for this reason eight arches were built on the slope of the hill. The interior of the parish assumes great artistic importance, as it houses numerous works by great and minor painters of the Venetian tradition: Tiziano Vecellio, Francesco da Milano, Francesco Frigimelica the elder. The painted scenes, centered on events concerning the patron saints Peter and Paul, are numerous and in good condition. The current presbytery of the parish church is, together with the bell tower, the only surviving element of the ancient Castle of Regency, destroyed in 1337.
