The mountain hut known as "Casera Caviazza" is located at 1900 m asl on a natural terrace overlooking the Biois Valley which, from dawn to sunset, enjoys the sunlight and the light tricks that the sun refletcs on the pink dolomia rock of the surrounding mountain groups, as Pale di San Martino, Civetta, Pelmo, Marmolada and, a bit further, the Marmarole and Sorapis. All around the Dolomites Unesco Heritage.
It has been a "malga", a mountain cottage, since the end of '800, when its buildings were situated on a lower altitude. By the 30's they had been moved in the position where we see them now. The road that takes to the casera from the SP of Passo Valles was built in 1942 together with a building which used to host the family of the owner and their employees. So far the history of the casera was linked to the one of the inhabitants of the valley who based their life on agricultural works.
Since 1966, when the first ski lift and slopes were built, the casera Caviazza, used first only for agricultural and pasture aims, begun to take part in the important development of the local touristic field, as the slopes were built in part on the pastures of the Caviazza property.
Since 90's Casera Caviazza has been constantly renewed. It turns to be now a modern typical mountain hut with all the conforts of the present times but keeping its historical soul and a warm heart which welcome whoever loves to be in touch with nature.
Lying in front of the "Larin", the typical dolomitic fireplace made of stone, in high altitude immersed in the silence of the night is a unique experience! The ideal place for your holiday with the family or for pleasant evenings with friends.
The Casera can host up to 10 people, it has got a bathroom, a kitchen and a large dining room with fireplace, heater and couches.
It offers the following services:
indipendent central heating with remote control, hot water, kitchen equipped with oven, gas cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge, sink, pots and plates, a living room with couches, a large table, fridge with a wide choice of white and red wines, TV Sat, free WiFi, "Larin" and wood stove with available wood, a bathroom with shower, washingbasin, Wc, electric heater and hairdryer. It has got a double room on the ground floor and a large attic loft with 8 beds, large private parking and more than 40 hectares of pastures and woods. The external area is equipped for the barbecue with a big table. A ski/bike depot, terrace for the yoga activity. Bed linen is also available on demand. It is possible to contact a guide for trekking, MTB or snowshoes escursions directly on the tracks of the Ski area San Pellegrino in Dolomites UNESCO. In summer it is possible to reach the Casera easily by car and in winter by snowmobile.
