Villa Sandi is a magnificent Palladian-style villa dating back to the 17th century that is nestled among the vineyards of the estate of the same name. It is currently used to host corporate and business events by the wineries of the Moretti Polegato family – which has been dedicated to wine making for a number of generations – and it is the heart of the company based in Crocetta del Montello. It stands at the foot of the sun-kissed Treviso hills in the Valdobbiadene Conegliano DOCG Prosecco zone, between the Montello and Piave areas, so it is within easy reach of sites of great artistic and historical interest such as Possagno, Asolo, Treviso and Venice. Guests who book in advance can go on guided tours of the fascinating underground cellars where Spumante Metodo Classico Opere Trevigiane and prestigious reserve red and white wines are aged.
Tunnels dating back to the First World War lead directly from the cellars to the villa, which features bas-reliefs and stucco decorations. Lighting up the rooms are spectacular 17th century Murano glass chandeliers that have shone down on numerous banquets throughout the villa’s history. The Italian garden is adorned with marble statues by the sculptor Orazio Marinali.
To round off the delightful tours of the villa, visitors are given the opportunity to enjoy a glass of prosecco in the Bottega del Vino wine shop. There is also the option of going on to visit the DOCG Prosecco vineyards on the Valdobbiadene estate (Bottega del Vino and Locanda Sandi), for a truly comprehensive Wine & Food Experience.
