Dannunzian Rooms
Guided visit to the rooms that hosted Gabriele D’Annunzio during his stay at the Castle of San Pelagio, on the occasion of the flight over Vienna on August 9, 1918: a propaganda mission during which thousands of leaflets were dropped thanks to the flight devised by D'Annunzio. The rooms, restored according to archival sources, are now fully visitable and preserve the memories of life and flight of the poet-soldier, as well as the furnishings of the Zaborra family, owners of the Castle since 1752.
Aviation Museum
Among the halls of the Castle of San Pelagio, a unique museum in Europe retraces the most extraordinary human endeavor: flight. The exhibition path includes sections dedicated to mythology, early attempts at flight, and the evolution of hot air balloons, airplanes, seaplanes, and helicopters.
